Reflecting Back and Thank You’s
Almost three years ago, little Olivia from Tallahassee packed two Samsonite suitcases, hopped on a plane and three hours later was deposited on the bustling streets of New York City outside her friend Jess’s apartment in Union Square.
In almost one month from today, little Olivia and her boyfriend will pack up their very spacious (for NYC) apartment and move back down south to Atlanta, combining their lives for what they suspect to be forever :)

I’ve been meaning to get started on this post for months now – there’s too much I want to say about my experience over these past few years. But mostly, it’s indescribable.
While here, I secured my dream job. And I mean that in the most honest and sincere way possible. I never thought that I, a small town Florida girl, would ever land the job I dreamed about from age five. Well, three years later, I’m sitting here as an assistant editor to one of the most nationally recognized women’s magazines in the country. It pains me to leave this job, but it’s time to leave the city. As a southern girl, my heart has been itching to get back for a long time now.
For the next month, I am truly going to immerse myself in the city and love it like I did when I first stepped foot in Union Square. There are SO many people I have to thank but the most important are as follows:
My Parents: For believing in me every step of the way even when I didn’t believe in myself. For supporting me whenever I needed help. For constantly loving me no matter what.
Cathy Anderson: If it hadn’t been for you, I would have never packed my bags and headed into the unknown. I’m confident that the amazing internship was what got me to where I am today.
Jess Rep: For bringing me into your home and supporting me through EVERYTHING. When I lost my phone on my third day in the city, when we ordered sushi at least two days a week and for giving me a place to stay while I got my feet on the New York City ground.
Jeff Jeff: For everything. I have no other words except, I love you.
The people in my life are so amazing and there are so many others that have contributed to my NYC bliss and to you, I thank you. And thank you to New York City, I will truly miss you.
Hello, Atlanta! :)
